I have a passion for air shows, which started before I went to school.  My dad was in the Air Force for his national service, and he dragged me along to an Ysterplaat air show to visit old friends - I think I was 5 or 6 at the time.  I was standing with my back to the runway, when a Mirage flew by low and fast  - I was frightened out of my shorts, but into a deep and intense passion for planes with sharp noses and a "vlam in sy gat". (flame in its butt)

I had the idea to record air shows in 2007, after attending the Test Flight and Development Centre Fly In, between Bredasdorp and Arniston.  The video camera I used failed, and I searched for someone who recorded the air show, but couldn't find anyone who did.  I also could not find anyone that filmed any air show during the air show season in South Africa, so I decided to do it. 

Since then, I've recorded Ysterplaat's AAD in 2008, in 2009 it was Swartkop and TFDC.  2010 saw  Swartkop and the last AAD at Ysterplaat; and 2011 included Swartkop and Ysterplaat.  The last DVD I recorded was TFDC in April 2012. 

On the website you'll find the DVDs available for sale.  I made earlier DVDs like AAD 2008, TFDC 2009 and Swartkop 2009, but since my skills bettered, I decided to stop selling them.  You can still get them if you contact me.
